Texas Lt. Gov. Dewhurst calls for Obama's impeachment

Impeachment. There's that word again directed at President Obama — and this time it's coming from Texas Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst.

Dewhurst, a Republican who's drawn three primary rivals, called for Obama to be impeached over issues such as the administration's handling of the deadly attack last year on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, and the national health care law. Dewhurst's comments were made during a recent Tarrant County Tea Party forum and confirmed by the Texas Tribune.

Dewhurst spokesman Travis Considine told the Texas Tribune that Dewhurst, a former CIA officer, feels "very strongly about the tragedy in Benghazi and has said that Congress should consider impeaching the president over the tragedy." Four Americans were killed in the attack, including U.S. Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens.

Considine added Dewhurst "also believes that President Obama should be held accountable for Washington's failure to secure the border and the gross overreach of the federal government under Obamacare."
