Bottom line: Republicans are hopelessly incompetent.

They hate government and no matter what they say, they suck at it.

American voters are fools to put them in charge of any branch of government.

They hate debt and deficits but they are the ones that create debt and deficits.

They hate our government and are on the road to destroy it.

They must be defeated.

you've said some pretty profound things is the past, but this ranks at the top of nailing it.

They seem pretty damn competent at doing what they want to do. Whether what they want to do is wise, good for the country, etc. is another question but they're doing pretty damn well at implementing their plans.

But is it accurate to say that you disagree completely? Do you not think they should be defeated? Do you think they're good at governing?

For the reasons I have already stated, i.e. they are competently fulfilling their goals.

People work themselves up into emotional twists and start to confuse concepts like "competence" with "agreement." We all disagree with what they are doing, we all agree the Tea Party should be defeated, but to question their competency is achieving various goals? That's stupid. I mean this "Tea Party" thing went from 0-60 in 3.9 seconds flat. They did not exist several years ago and now they're holding the entire county hostage. I'd call that pretty damn competent.

It is by underestimating the enemy like this that leads to defeat.

I just think it's childish and foolish to make these blanket assertions. As I said people work themselves up or worse, want to work other people up, by making these silly claims. Confusing agreement with competency is just not something you're going to get me to sign on to. It is also possible to agree with people yet think they lack competency. For instance while I 100% back universal healthcare I think the ACA reflects the height of incompetency in getting effective legislation passed. I mean, the Dems had the Whitehouse and both Congress and Senate and the Repubs still managed to cut essential components and completely blocked true universal coverage.

You seem to be saying that bank robbers are competent if they get away with it? But you are entitled to believe what you wish.

Those things would be definitions of words and concepts.

And indeed a bank robbery that is successful is certainly a competent bank robber. I'm confused how this concept could even be in doubt particularly as I've gone to lengths to disambiguate them for you. Is a bank robber "bad?" Certainly. Does being bad necessarily mean one is incompetent? Of course not and to maintain so is stupid.

...but some, perhaps a significant number, are ideologues who haven't had to learn how to function in Congress.

I'll just never know how many, because the behavior of the competent ones is so similar.
