But the Democratic Party is the party of Lincoln. The racists switched from the Democratic party to the Republican party after the Civil war, because they hated black people. If Lincoln were here today, he would most assuredly belong to the Democratic party.

There's a reason that we used to talk about "Dixiecrats". A major shift started with Nixon's/Lee Atwater's "Southern Strategy" that drew most of the racist Democrats into the Republican party.
