GOP Leaders Cite Inability to Halt Government Shutdown

Republicans in the House of Representatives have scheduled impeachment proceedings against President Obama, claiming his inability to halt the federal government shutdown makes him unfit for office.

Congresswoman Michele Bachmann introduced a resolution to impeach Obama this morning and referred the matter to the House Judiciary Committee. Senior aides close to judiciary chairman Bob Goodlatte say hearings will begin Thursday.

"I think it's high time President Obama be held accountable for his crimes," explains Bachmann. "For two weeks now, vital government services have been disrupted, federal workers have gone without pay and national memorials have been closed, all because of the president's refusal to negotiate over Obamacare.

"This isn't just poor leadership. The Obama administration is corrupt to the core. The scandals surrounding the IRS, Benghazi, the Fast and the Furious (sic) and Solyndra have shown us this cabal will do anything to stay in power.

"But in shutting down the government President Obama has committed economic treason against the United States of America, and he must be removed before it's too late. The Constitution provides us the mechanism of impeachment. It's time to end this dictatorial regime and return the presidency back to the American people."

there was nothing in the excerpt that didn't sound plausible given the attributions.

Done in by Poe's Law. The shame, the shame…

Why doesn't this surprise me? These guys cannot get their way on the debt ceiling and Obamacare, so they go ahead and schedule this. What a croc. No wonder Congress's approval rating is 5%. Instead of impeaching the president, we need to recall our representatives.

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) When asked whether he would allow the government to default on its debt, Gohmert projected the responsibility for such circumstances onto Obama.

"No," he said, "that would be an impeachable offense by the president."

They are revving the impeachment engine.

Impeachment proceedings is more like the shots fired at Fort Sumter. Now they are actively calling for coup disguised as impeachment. None of trumped up charges are true.

With the teabaggers driving the clown car, satire is being usurped by the absurdity of reality.

The Tea Party wants civil war, but this must be a joke. The first known minority president of the United States impeached for providing health insurance to those in need.

They have 3 years to get something on the President, but I am sure they already have the votes for impeachment. If they do impeach Obama, the way they did Clinton, it will be the end of Boehner and the Tea Party. Would be interesting to see how Obama would deal with them at that point.
Newt Gingrich , Tom Delay, Robert L. Livingston leaders behind the Clinton impeachment all ended up in trouble. Bachman is under investigation now. She should chill on the accusations.

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) said Tuesday that President Obama has “committed impeachable offenses” and that the House could hold a hearing to impeach.

Top Ten Reasons For the Impeachment of Barack Obama...

(Add your own!)

10) A ghost writer crafted his autobiography, a prosecutable offense. Proof? No Harvard Law Review editor has the brains to narrate his own life.

9) Older red-state voters still find him weird and scary. Just why is that? Must be something he did, right?

8) Membership in the Communist Party is a felony, and Democrats are the new Communists.

7) Because we say so. Ha!

6) Because he conspired with Bin Laden. Don't believe the liberal media hype. Heck, he probably IS Bin Laden. Just look at the first names!

5) When Michelle Obama spoke at the Oscars, it violated laws against politicians not named Reagan having Hollywood ties.

4) Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi. Ben-Gha-Zee! If you say it often enough, something illegal must have gone down.

3) Because unlike Texas, Chicago is the most corrupt part of America.

2) Because the IRS did its job.

And at number one...

1) Because we say so! Take that, hippies!

I was going to alert my Facebook friends of this, and their need to fact check, when I realized I would be wasting my time. My dislike for anything GOP, including friends, is growing stronger by the moment. I think it's time I start "thinning the herd" in my Facebook Friends group.
