the state of our government is in the state we are in right now because a group of people understood that quote and put it into practice on a vast scale.

When will this country wake up? And when will the press do their job? Because while the right wing had their outlets, regular main stream media stopped reporting what was happening and started catering to the right wing's point of view. With the exception of a few places no one really challenged them. DU being one of those that challenged. Some programs on MSNBC but most were on the internet because that's where they were forced.

[font color="navy" face="Verdana"]LBJ used the phrase "trickle-down theory" long before Reagan convinced a large segment of the populace that it was a desirable goal.

I wasn't paying much attention at all back in those days except to the Vietnam War. I just remember my dad calling LBJ a "nasty bastard" for unknown reasons. As I've looked back and learned more, I've come to admire Pres. Johnson's views and accomplishments greatly.
