At this point, which do you think would be worse for the country?

Giving in to extortion to avoid default would be the end of our democracy.

That is all this is. A suicide bus driver, on a full bus, intent on doing the most damage he can, before crashing.

6. The GOP will continue this insanity until we stand up to them and make it stop working for them.

The exact reason it's come to this bat-shit insane point is because the GOP has been pushing the envelope for 30 years, and for 30 years the Dems have been enabling it with one compromise after another, under the deluded narrative that the GOP is somehow negotiating in good faith.

What we're witnessing is the Dems finally unable to pretend that the GOP are behaving reasonably, and the GOP simultaneously unable to comprehend dashing up against a Democratic opponent who is suddenly no longer willing to capitulate.

We have to break them. Until we do, it will just get worse and worse.

and have little in savings. Defaulting would cause them to be unable to pay any bills or even go food shopping to me that's unacceptable. Hold the line at all costs sounds great until you calculate the people it hurts
