Pat Robertson to GOP: Give up! "The Republicans have got to wave the white flag"

According to Right Wing Watch, televangelist and former presidential candidate Pat Robertson is urging the Republican Party to give up on defunding Obamacare and to reopen the government and raise the debt ceiling.

“The Republicans have got to wave the white flag and say, ‘We fought a good fight and now it’s over,’” said Robertson. “They cannot shut the government down and then bring about a default. We can’t do it. I mean, it would be devastating economically to every human being and the Republicans just can’t get tarred with that.”

Interesting that his concern isn't so much that people will be harmed but that the GOP will be tarred with that.

The Hampton Roads area probably is well above 80% anti-GOP at this point. Brother Pat is the son of a US Senator, so buried under all the layers of fundie BS is a childhood in a capital environment that was relatively sane by comparison to now. I know he pulls in dollars from all over the country, but he also has a huge local power base, megachurch, etc. and must be quaking over the potential losses right at home.
