4. Actually, it is about the debt limit, not the CR, but yes, this is very silly.

But it is still progress. It seems this version only has two poison pills

a/ The one about extraordinary measures
b/ They insist on screwing their staffers (and the WH staffers as well) by getting rid of their employer contribution for healthcare.

6. The no extraordinary measure provision relates to the debt ceiling, not funding the government.

Doesn't make any less of a POS, though. Its been part of the repubs wishlist for a long time, so its not a surprise to see it. In fact, a similar provision was one of the reasons that President Clinton vetoed a debt limit bill in 1995.
