Obama: Boehner 'Can't Control His Caucus'

Obama: Boehner 'Can't Control His Caucus'

President Barack Obama on Tuesday placed blame for the current fiscal impasse on House Speaker John Boehner's (R-OH) inability to reign in the Republican caucus.

"The problem that we've got is that for Speaker Boehner for example, him negotiating with me isn't necessarily good for the extreme faction in his caucus. It weakens him," Obama said in an interview with WABC. "So there have been repeated situations where we have agreements then he goes back and it turns out that he can't control his caucus."

Obama said that negotiations failed because of a small faction within the Republican party.

"The House Republicans still believe that they can get concesssions for doing their job, and making sure that the American people aren't hurt," he said.

What's the point of even negotiating with Boehner?

Who does he represent in the negotiations?

It's an exercise in futility.

He can't control his tears How the Hell he is he going to control a bunch of toddler RIPs?? He is about as smart as a box of rocks. How he would be bullied by his own and take it, I'll never know. what is going to happen know one will say. somebody is going to get fucked up. Point blank. These silly RIPs just don't get it. They are trying to do the bidding of the Heritage Foundation and are going to get creamed for it. You just can't talk about affecting the lives of people trying to hurt one person and think you will just get a walk. life doesn't work like that. Or those who live in reality know better. If they keep doing what they are doing they are going to piss off one of their own and its going to be on and cracking. If they tank the economy and cause rich people to lose money they have invested in America, they will really hurt one of those republicans. This will not be about Ted Cruz. They will have issues Foreign and Domestic. It will also cost us more to borrow in the future. Can anyone say Former Republican Party??

Maybe they'll finally loosen up and stagger their way through the vote. Perhaps they'd even get laid when they get home to their districts. Now that would be a first.

I was looking for a way to play on the sound of "can't control his caucus." You just beat me to that.

Step away from the spell check!

There are many words that sound the same in English and mean different things. "You're" and "your". "There", "their", and "they're".
"Bear" and "bare".

And "rein", "rain", and "reign". "reign" has to do with a monarch who reigns over his/her people. You cannot reign in someone or thing. The word that should be being used in this story is "rein" which comes from an overused metaphor that refers to the riding of a horse and using the reins to stop or control the horse.

That professional writers make these basic errors and that their editors don't catch it (if they indeed have editors) is really sad.

The moment anyone sees this kind of error they tend, like me, to stop reading and begin to focus on the wrong word choice. I get the point of the story, but maybe the writer should have just dropped the cliche and used regular words like "control"... As in, "Boehner is unable to control his own caucus."...

and now they are bitching about the extremist whackjobs pushing them out of the way to destroy their party, WTF did they think was going to happen? There is a lot of money in extremism these days, I bet Ted Cruz made himself a few million in the last two weeks alone, he took a page straight out of Palin's playbook, keep repeating the cheesy one-liners to fire up the morons and act as crazy as possible to get as much media coverage as possible. I bet his book will sell half a million copies and less than ten people will actually read it.
