I like that she encouraged people to check out media matters, and recognize this is a larger issue- that it is part of a republican agenda.

Glad I was able to catch most of it. Thanks for the heads up!

Her parents should indeed be very proud of her, as should all women in the nation. She represents us well.

I hope she's very careful and selective about what she says and where she says it. Nice thing about The View is that women watch it. This needs to be kept in front of the minds of the average woman, who, believe me, gets it.

The old "both sides do it", "both sides are equally guilty" meme.

Similar to comparing shoplifting candy to a bank robbery. False equivocation.

It just gets attentions when our side does it worse.

Whine!

"It's like it's okay when a Democrat robs a house. They never complain beyond putting that Democrat in jail. A Republican robs a house, rapes the wife and forcing the man to watch, kills her and then him, and then we censure him and investigate if there was any wrong doing. But they keep screaming about it. Same difference."

Didn't both Bushes have Rush over to the White House? And didn't both Bushes--and other Republican leaders--call Rush on the air on the anniversary of his program to offer their congratulations? When was the last time a Democratic president called to congratulate Bill Maher?

And how many Democratic congressmen have called Schultz, Olberman or Maher to apologize for their criticism? Seems I recall more than one GOP Congressperson having to kowtow to Rushbo after daring to call him on his BS.

Sorry, the GOP made Rush, and Rush is now the recognized spokesman and de facto leader of the GOP. Hence the unwillingness of any of its presidential candidates to do more than murmer the slightest disapproval, if that, of the man and his disgusting attacks on women.

The GOP is going to rue the day they decided contraception was going to be their next wedge issue.

I missed the very begining of the segment, Whoopie said something that Ms. Fluke took issue with saying that it wasn't a 'one-time' comment, but three days of continual attacks, and said that he'd made over 50 offensive comments.

I don't know what Whoopie had said, but I'm hoping to find it. Barbara Walters seemed kind of ...'tepid'... wishy-washy, saying something like 'no matter where you stand on the issue we appreciate you speaking out'..

a little surprised that Whoopie would even remotely support Limbaugh, but she's her own person. When Sandra addressed Whoopie's comment it seemed like Whoopie was in full agreement with the point that Ms. Fluke made to explain why it was different.

at the beginning of the show spent some time lecturing the other women cohosts on why people shouldn't be asking sponsors to drop their advertising on that pig's program. I understand that she is worried that the same could happen to The View if they stepped in it. Sandra was entirely on target when pointing out in the segment she was in that what Limbaugh did was not a simple drive by swipe but a sustained attack over three days directed specifically at her and which included some 53 direct personal attacks. She also pointed out that his attacks were then picked up and amplified by others like him.
