EIB Considering Suspending Rush Limbaugh? (Can't Find Link)

A right wing co worker claims he heard this on the radio this morning. He said EIB is considering it. I have googled it and looked everywhere online and found nothing. He is very upset that Rush apologized. In my opinion, I don't believe Rush would be suspended.Although, I am to assume each and every sponsor of his agree with what he said who are still with him. I would be sure to remind people of that.

If anyone finds a link or source confirming a possible suspension, PLEASE POST IT HERE!

frequently mentions the EIB (Excellence In Broadcasting) network, but this is a mythic construction, as he told The New York Times in 1990.[19] In reality, his show was co-owned and first syndicated by Edward F. McLaughlin, former president of ABC who founded EFM Media in 1988, with Limbaugh's show as his first product. In 1997, McLaughlin sold EFM to Jacor Communications, which was ultimately bought up by Clear Channel Communications. Today, Limbaugh owns a majority of the show, which is syndicated by the Premiere Radio Networks.

Clear Channel is the one that would need to pull him and I don't see that happening.

He has a distribution contract with Clear Channel so they own the rights to broadcast his shows on their stations but I'm pretty sure the "EIB Network" is just something he made up as part of his show.

The show was started by ABC Radio. I think they made up EIB to disassociate the show from the network.

They also syndicate sports-talk host Jim Rome.

I have not seen any evidence that Premiere is moving to suspend Limbaugh. Having said that, the move would make sense. In local radio, when a shock-jock goes too far, generally a 7 (working day) to 10 (working day) suspension is handed down. There's no way Premiere would suspend him today -- his show will have a monster number for today. They probably also want him on tomorrow and Wednesday to get his listeners in for the Stupid Tuesday festivities. After that, there is a lull in the election cycle, and I'd speculate that a suspension will be handed down. Why? It allows everyone to save face. Premiere looks responsible, Limbaugh appears to have been punished, and that allows for a week to a week and a half for this story to flush out of the news cycle, and for damage control to be performed with the departed advertisers. Not that the advertisers matter in this instance; I suspect (if necessary) that the Koch Bros. would fund all of his shows from now to November, even if he'd called a woman a "see-you-next-Tuesday."

Keep calling and writing the local sponsors, the local affilliates, and keep copying the FCC.
