Most entertainers are pretty good at acting.

He always manages to sound pretty sincere when he's blasting anyone he doesn't like, so he either believes every word that comes out of his mouth, or he's a consummate actor.

While it is nice if a person accepts an apology, it's also the mark of a person with class who "sincerely" apologizes BEFORE the shit hits the fan...not AFTER.

She can forgive him only if she makes fun of the fact he's obese and on his fourth wife. In the meantime until she gets a REAL apology - like him down on his knees BEGGING her for forgiveness in a national advertisement that he pays for -

No goal. She ought not forgive and she ought not forget.

"By their fruits shall you know them"-- Strength is in Knowing the true from the false.

Discernment--knowing Truth from Lies, Right from Wrong, Good from Evil--Learn how to do it. Falling for the self serving words of a liar, a liar who has been caught in his lies many times does not confer glory in the eyes of the Lord.

Is that she volunteered to testify at a hearing convened by House Democrats. Apparently, the notion of a woman weighing in with her opinion on birth control so discombobulated that vile human being, he spent three days last week excoriating her for expressing herself.

Speaking solely for myself, I'm not really sure this was anything approaching a fair fight. On one side, there's a nationally-syndicated radio show host, who has a nationwide platform on the public airwaves going against a third year law student. Who has the power here? And yet, for all his vaunted "excellence in broadcasting," it appears that the vile human being overstepped the bounds, and is now trying to blame everyone else for his own actions. His "apology" (if you can call it that) would be found wanting from a seven-year-old. From an allegedly grown man, it's by turns sad, pathetic, and revolting. Anyone defending it is probably a notch below that.

Now he sounds more contrite, but I think he's still lying because he claims he was truly sorry when he made his written statement -- and I don't believe he was.

I think the only reason he's contrite now is that he's been losing sponsors. He's a temporarily contrite bully -- I don't buy that he's seen the error of his ways.

37. Forgiveness doesn't mean one has to accept an apology....
Mon Mar 5, 2012, 03:07 PM
Mar 2012

The question isn't whether accepting the apology would be a good thing for her, but rather whether it would be a good thing for for him, for all the women he's insulted (and certainly wants to continue to insult with impunity), a good thing for women's rights, and for the men who think they can trample on those rights and not be called to task on that?

Consider the tenants of AA--the alcoholic can't just say he's sorry. He has to make amends. And wouldn't accepting Rush's apology be rather like accepting an apology from an alcoholic? "I'm sorry I trashed the house--"? Without any evidence that he's going to try and get sober and not trash it again?

Forgiving him and accepting the apology are two different things. Too many times, Republicans and right-wing pundits like Rush, broadcasters like Fox, say something offensive, inaccurate, bullying, and slanderous all to get their way. If people turn on them, they quickly apologize. But they they make no attempt to change their behavior. Which means that the apology is just a way to get themselves off the hook. Once accepted, the whole uproar can die down, and the pundit can go back, slowly, to doing what he did before.

She may have forgiven him or not--that's up to her and no one else. But not accepting the apology is smart. This time, she is letting him and every one else know (including the republicans who wouldn't let a woman testify on contraception) that "sorry" isn't going to be good enough. They don't get to sweep their mistake under the rug this time. It's going to stay out where everyone can see it, and they are going to have to admit they made it and fix it and promise never to do it again if they really want to continue on. This isn't about her and the power of forgiveness for her, it's about not letting anyone off the hook till they prove they are willing to make amends and change.

And then you forgave him for saying Chelsea Clinton was a dog.

And now you want to forgive him for insisting, repeatedly over the course of days, that this law student was slut and a prostitute?

Are there any limits to your forgiveness? You must be a saint.

Or maybe you didn't hear what else he said today. To paraphrase, he learned to talk this way from people like YOU -- "leftists."

"I acted too much like the leftists who despise me," Limbaugh said on today's show, according to a transcript at his website. "I descended to their level, using names and exaggerations to describe Sandra Fluke. It was wrong, and that's why I've apologized."

Wonderful young lady who doesn't immediately buckle for a non-apology apology. He did make it personal, and he wasn't trying to be humorous AT. ALL. Everybody with half a working brain can see that.

She did the correct thing by now accepting Limpball's non-apology as an apology. I hope she keeps this going until that huge blowhard finally issues a humble and sincere apology, not only to her, but to all the women he's thrown under the bus. Maybe his diehard rightwing male fans will begin to finally understand women aren't their playthings or property.

I've seen far worse in either party, so it's not a stretch.

Sandra Fluke is only 30, but she's more than qualified to be a U.S. Congressperson. I don't know why you have a problem with that.

And, btw, this wasn't just any asshole. This one is the biggest, most influential rightwing asshole there is, and it takes a LOT of courage to stand up to Limpballs when even people like Bush and Cheney didn't dare. So please, don't pooh-pooh this incredible display of courage by this intelligent young woman as if she'd just only stand up to a crossing guard. That's belittling her.

Rush badmouthed her more than once, so why SHOULD she accept his apology? Is he sorry just because he got busted by the media and had nine advertisers drop him? Mean-spirited people like him will never learn the error of their ways until it really hurts. Like how on the South Park episode "Starvin' Marvin", Cartman mocked poor people, but was then stuck in Africa with no food or water.
