6 Things Rich People Need to Stop Saying

Once again, Cracked hits one out of the ballpark and into orbit. Read it. You'll love it. (Unless you're a poor-hating right-winger.)

#6. "Well, $500,000 a Year Might Sound Like a Lot, but I'm Hardly Rich."

"The amount that I have to reinvest in my business and feed my family is more like $600,000 ... and so by the time I feed my family, I have maybe $400,000 left over ..."

-- Congressman John Fleming

"It is hard to ask more of households making $250,000 or $300,000 a year. In large parts of the country, that kind of income does not get you a big home or lots of vacations or anything else that is associated with wealth."

-- Senator Chuck Schumer

What They Think They're Saying:

"Come on, we're all in this together! It's not like I have infinite money."

What We Hear:

"When my family's Aruba vacation went over budget, that was exactly like you being unable to afford medication for your child's excruciating chronic illness!"

The rich pundits need to stop telling me (every five minutes, I swear) how "we" don't begrudge the wealthy "their" wealth in this country.

BULLSHIT!!!!

All wealth derives from the Earth and is therefore the common property of us all. And since all of us own the wealth of the planet, none of us owns it. Wealth is theft. Pure and simple.

... by that logic you should have the right to walk into my kitchen and grab a beer and some chicken from my fridge because it is "yours."

Cracked can seriously kiss my ass after the moderators were such douchebags to me last year. I like that they tore down rich people but until they clean up their boards I will flat out refuse to contribute or link their articles.

...nothing will ever change by telling the rich to behave better or by trying to 'embarrass' them. It's human nature to keep the money you have.

The only hope of changing the system is to change the lineup of those who change the system. Vote reformers into Congress. They are the ones who make the laws that allow the rich to keep getting richer.

Thanks for the link. That 'Cracked' looks like an interesting site and I've bookmarked it.

Not only do the rich need to shut the fuck up, but their non-rich, Horatio Alger-huffing supporters need to also.

It's harder for them to keep the happy-face mask pinned up when they keep coating it with this horseshit.
