Update on Justice for Daisy event

ATTENTION: The objective of this protest was to get the case reopened so that justice may be served. We succeeded in our goal by putting pressure on the prosecutor to do the right thing. Not only will the case be reopened, but a special prosecutor will be appointed by the courts (not Rice) so that Daisy may have her day in court. This is justice! We will be canceling the demonstration next Tuesday, because it is no longer in the hands of the prosecutor. Thanks to all who worked with us to lead to this solution. We will continue to watch and make sure that the appointed prosecutor does the right thing. Today is Daisy's day. May she find peace in her heart and strength knowing that she has the whole nation fighting for her.

Courtney Cole needs to be thanked for her work in putting this event together so fast. Courtney, you rock!

Additional message on page is that the other girl in the case has come forward and is publicly identifying herself. Between the public and internet outcry and the other victim publicly identifying herself, Rice knew the gig was up. He has stated that he will request a special prosecutor be appointed by the courts.

are being splashed all over the internet. HuffPo has a slideshow of photos.

The 15 year old rapist got anonymity. But the victims don't.

Ugh.

Then again, they didn't have much of a choice.

The name of the 15 year old isn't mentioned in national media but someone did tell me the name. From what I understand, it was common knowledge.

(at UCM, where Barnett attends) knows him and tried to place blame on the girls, saying they were the ones who got blackout drunk, consented and then turned it into rape.

I don't understand a woman who blames other women for rape.
