Track/Boycott Companies throwing workers off company insurance b/c work less than 30 hours per wk

Darden

(owner of Olive Garden, Red Lobster and other restaurants) is doing this to workers now. Forced reduction in hours to get below the 30 (done earlier this year) and notice yesterday that they would be dropping the coverage as of December 31, 2013.

Workers forced to go to exchanges which may or may not be better - in one case, not better at all due to fact state has only one insurer on exchange - more expensive with big deductible.

Anyone else?

Good idea! If this gets traction, it should be pinned on the Labor forum. Squinch Oct 2013 #1

or do they have to pay for their insurance. Because if they are currently paying they may be better off losing it
since then they can qualify for subsidies on the exchanges.
