(309 posts)Calling them "traitors" and "seditious" is over the top rhetoric.
What they are is stupid. There is nothing illegal about being stupid.

(309 posts)It is stupid, but they were still operating 100% within the law.
Calling them seditious or traitors s to drag yourself down to their level.
Don't do that to yourself. You're better than that.

(20,899 posts)about a personal matter, whereas Congressmen voting to default on the nation's debt, thereby voting to destroy their country's creditworthiness, are guilty of neither high crimes nor misdemeanors, but are just stupid and there's surely no crime in just being stupid.

(309 posts)Ted Cruz had better watch his ass because all but 17 of his caucus in the Senate voted against his stupid ass.
And all it takes constitutionally for the Senate to expel a member is for the matter to be put on the floor and 67 Senators vote in favor.

(16,254 posts)Unless he spoke on the floor, I haven't heard much of anything from him regarding anything. He must be coasting into retirement. Wishful thinking, and all that jazz.

(549 posts)He has always been conservative but not Teabagger-level conservative (ex. he worked on that gun bill earlier this year). Then again they have only been around for 5 years. I think he made a huge mistake going that far to the right. He's never going to be a star in the party and he's only made re-election very hard on himself. PA is solid blue. Charlie Dent knew it and that's why he's been leading the moderates in the House.

My guess is he traded it for something to be added to the Farm Bill.
