(13,603 posts)WA to play their high school team. Going past the Washington State Penetentiary, we were joking about playing the guards! We stomped the WA-Hi Blue Devils that night!
A 70's football kid from my area really loved that movie. Sonny Sixkiller was in it!
That night had a special memory for me. A senior that didn't play much but was one of my best friends got to come in at center because our regular center was injured on a play. He was stoked and we kicked ass! I was playing right guard as a junior. We even double teamed and pancaked one of their defensive lineman! The rest of that game was his only real playing time on the varsity. He broke his neck in a diving accident a couple of summers later and spent the next thirty years in a wheel chair before he passed away. We always bullshitted about that night every time I saw him for the rest of his life.
