"But if you take it in the butt hole, it's not sex," say many southern Christian bible-thumping GOP types.

Half the leadership is gay and that wasn't mentioned.

If the ones who violate this pledge have to resign immediately, you will be able to hear crickets in the Statehouse.

They should all be written on soft paper so at least you can use it to wipe your ass.

I'm thinking they're catering to liars. I recall Jesus saying something along the lines of committing adultery in one's heart. Will that be pledged, as well? Because it seems to me they're setting an impossibly high standard here, one that they'd like to believe they're all adhering to (unlike those rutting swine in the other party), but which in reality they're all transgressing to greater and lesser degrees.

Free party motto, courtesy of me: Be an insufferable hypocritical prig! Join the South Carolina Republican Party!

The very last part has the county chair admitting that you can't stop someone from filing if they meet the legal stipulations. Like most of the GOP shit this is purely symbolic and designed to exclude the impure from the party.

I'm so old, there was a time when reasonable people were running things, and they knew that setting up unenforceable rules were doomed to failure, and only fostered contempt for the rules and the rule-makers. Apparently, no such person is in charge of these folks in South Carolina.

After all, the female's sexual pleasure involves equipment completely separate from procreation whereas in men it's all combined. The authoritarian patriarchs must find that unGodly.

........well, we'll all be very disappointed in you.........followed closely by a stern finger wagging and a wringing of hands

I love all these pie crust promises

you wanna get my attention with all these 'pledges'.......add the lines, "I further pledge that should I be found to have violated this pledge I agree to a mandatory 10 year prison term"...THEN I'll take your ridiculous pledge seriously.

How many of those 'abstinence only promise' teenagers wound up pregnant? Same idea......easily made, easily broken.
