General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsToday I'm calling Grassley's office and
asking for the reason he voted for default and why it is okay with him that he supported this folly which only increased the nation's debt. Let me suggest that everyone do this as well, even if your legislators is among the insane wing of the Teabaggers. Every voice counts. Every pinprick into the bubble these people inhabit will help destroy it.
Grassley will continue to hear from me as we near the next deadline for the debt ceiling. He has a desire to be carried from the Senate chamber in his coffin at 100 years of age like Strom Thurmond was. He has a huge sense of entitlement when it comes to power and he's been there too long. I've voted against this nasally idiot in every election. I will continue to do so. I'm recruiting other voices to give him feedback that he just may have feet of clay.

(16,254 posts)But even more than that, I couldn't believe he didn't have his face in the camera throughout all of this. I think he's just sliding into retirement and trying to keep his face clean. Each time I send him an email, he replies with a 2-3 page typewritten reply a couple months later. He killed me off with words.
I'll also send him an email and see how many pages it takes to reply.

(10,942 posts)of your time. Instead start networking with people that feel the way you do. Each of you then find more people that agree with your view on Grassley. Keep growing that network and more importantly, get people in it voting and convincing family, while convincing family to vote. The task ahead of you may seem impossible, but it is impossible only if you keep writing to a man who will just ignore you instead of forming a network that will one day elect someone else to the office that Grassley holds, someone that you can be proud of.

Grassley Votes Against Continuing Appropriations Act for 2014

RE: the Continuing Appropriations Act for 2014, H.R. 2775
DA: Wed., October 16, 2013
Below is a statement from Senator Chuck Grassley regarding his vote against Continuing Appropriations Act for 2014.
"There's been a lot of talk about the negative impact of not raising the debt limit, but there's too little focus on the negative consequences of ignoring the $17 trillion debt. Government spending has exploded since 2008, increasing the national debt by $6 trillion. Obamacare is a drag on the economy and hurting workers' ability to find full-time jobs. Yet the President refuses to lead for fiscal responsibility, both short and long term, even with a government shutdown. This agreement raises the debt limit with no action on the debt. It's a missed opportunity for forcing action to limit government and increase economic opportunities. America needs the President to roll up his sleeves and work with members of Congress to address the long-term fiscal problems of our country. Our grandkids depend on it."

He has been a bagger for a long time now.
ETA - Grassley uses a lot of the couched racist language anymore.
