Declaring war on 55% . . . 70%? . . . 90%? . . . of the people in this country seems not smart.

But that appears to be exactly what the repubs have done. I'm guessing at the percentages. 55% assumes the very low end of the population that includes women who demand to control their health care choices and the men who strongly support them. 70% or more seems the likely percentage, while it is possibly as high as 90%.

A wise person, many, many years ago told me that repubicans *always* over reach. Is this just another example?

Or is it a strategic choice they've made for some larger goal? Is it another attempt to push further to the right the national dialogue? We can see how so many Bush-era policies are now just an accepted part of the American fabric; DHS is a prime example.

I really don't know why they've declared this latest war, but I am certain it isn't just for the hell of it.
