Before you can join the Laurens County Republican Party in South Carolina and get on the primary ballot, they ask that you pledge that you’ve never ever had pre-marital sex — and that you will never ever look at porn again

Legally, I would presume that the Laurens County GOP is a voluntary association and can have about any entrance requirements that it chooses, provided they do not violate current law. And the pledge is likewise "voluntary."

This doesn't make them any less crazy, just legally safe.
