Judge lights up to decide whether hookah falls under South Dakota’s anti-smoking ban



Taking a draw on a hookah pipe was purely research for Circuit Judge Jeff Davis when he took his court to Ifrits Hookah Lounge Wednesday afternoon.

The field trip to the St. Joseph Street business came midway through a court trial in which Davis is to decide if what is exhaled by hookah patrons is indeed tobacco smoke subject to the statewide ban on smoking in public or in a place of employment.
