The 'girls' appellation is definitely going to be an issue. I once addressed a post here to the ladies and it was about 60 ok with it / 40 against using the term. But even I, troglodyte extraordinaire, know that there will be issues henceforth by calling females here 'girls'.

hear it all the time.. does not bother me in the least..actually rarely hearing us called using the word "men" and when I do it sounds odd.

"What are you boys up to"
"I'm going to hang out with the boys over at this table" ( women saying this)

On and on..

My wife's horse riding club (all women) is called the "Willow Creek Girls"

But my mind is fuzzy on the details... Especially now that I need to steal back an hour to finish what I was supposed to be doing instead of posting here. I know that little red "X" in the upper right corner will set me free... I just... need to. Read. One. More. Thread.

One wont hurt, right?

but my daughter's is. Her name became very popular several years after she was born. I like to think I started a trend

We named our daughter Sophie in 2009,

Now Sophia is the #1 name- (IE- the new cartoon which is actually really good, Sophia the 1st!)

Sophia sounded too 50's grandma for me, Gene Simmons named his daughter Sophie so that was good enough for me

When I was a kid in the 80s, I could not even get keychains, etc with my name on it (which is more popular now--- in fact I have 3 keychains with my name on it on my keys now to make up for what I could not get as a kid).
