AutoZone Denies Advertising on LimbaughThe Memphis-based auto parts retailer has been at pains in recent days to disassociate itself from the conservative radio talk-show host who has been widely criticized for calling Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke, a birth control supporter, a "slut" and a "prostitute."
Limbaugh's critics, who launched an advertiser boycott, last week identified AutoZone among the firms that sponsored his radio program.

"I've said this over and over, to more than 100 reporters and news outlets, that AutoZone's policy is that we do not advertise on or sponsor any political functions or programs," Pohlman said during a phone interview Monday from Washington. "There's too much risk to advertise on a show that presents only one political side, whether it's the right or the left."
After denying the ads, Pohlman acknowledged that's it's possible that a radio programmer somewhere across the country could have inadvertently run an AutoZone spot during a Limbaugh broadcast, but that the company never sanctioned such marketing.

(15,812 posts)2. I do think there is some funky way these ads are handled
I don't exactly understand it, but I know the company and it would be unlike them to sanction ads on any kind of political program.
I don't think we necessarily need to believe lists that keep getting reposted and go viral on the internet.
