Did Limbaugh go too far calling Sandra Fluke a slut and prostitute? will you sign a petition?

https://wwws.whitehouse.gov/petitions#!/petition/direct-fcc-investigate-rush-limbaugh-biased-and-distorted-news-and-making-intimidating-statements/tzkXC1zl

direct the FCC to investigate Rush Limbaugh for biased and distorted news and for making intimidating statements. On February 29 and March 1, 2010, Rush Limbaugh broadcast biased and distorted news commentary as well as intimidating statements about an individual, Sandra Fluke.

On the air, he called Fluke a “slut” and a prostitute in response to Congressional testimony regarding contraception. The next day he aired these intimidating remarks:

"If we are going to pay for your contraceptives, and thus pay for you to have sex. We want something for it. We want you post the videos online so we can all watch."

In addition, this language, directed at a specific individual, meets the Supreme Court test for obscenity: it appeals to prurient interest, it depicts offensive sexual conduct (peeping Toms) and it lacks serious literary, artistic or political value.

NOte that Sandra Flukes is not a person running for political office. She just provided her testimony to a congressional committee.

4. I ran into problems accessing the petition too. You have to keep trying. Don't know why this is.

you also have to set up a Whitehouse site account - no big deal, name and email etc. Then you can access (i still had to try several times) a petition to sign.

GOOD LUCK!!.. and "hang in there".

you may still get 'access denied'.... probably the work of the GOP.

I had difficulty too. You have to keep trying. give it a few minutes and try again.

also, you do have to have a whitehouse account set up to sign any petitions.

no big deal, just email etc.

Good luck!

end his sponsorships/support strategy?

Getting him banned seems like the strategy of the afraid and will only make him a martyr.

you may want make your disgust known to the advertizers. My feelings are any advertizer who thinks this slime-ball is worthy programming to sponsor --- I am not interested in doing business with them. I guess that would be the free market approach - if you prefer.

I guess Sandra Fluke could go to the expense of suing Limbaugh for libelling her, but that takes a good deal of money.

crossed the line. Those speaking on public airwaves assume some responsibility to speak responsibly and to not engage in baseless attacks on people maligning their character or alleging that they are law breakers.

INterested parties should be advised you may very well have to try several times before you can sign the petition for an FCC investigation of Limbaugh.

try going onto the top level of the petition site using this link https://wwws.whitehouse.gov/petitions .... then click on "find a petition".

NOte you have to have a whitehouse.gov site account to sign a petition (you give them you name, email, etc ... no big deal)

After clicking on "find a petition" look for "direct the FCC to investigate Rush Limbaugh for biased and distorted news and for making intimidating statements" (I think they should have included: "for slander" ).

Good luck, and if you get "access denied" just try a few minutes later. Keep trying until you get through to the petition. The GOP hackers can't stop everybody from signing the petition.
