Next Tuesday I will vote for a repug.

In AL Dist. 1 there's a special election repug runoff.
Jo(siah) Bonner resigned his $175,000 per annum job in congress to take a $375,000 job as 'Government Relations Proctor' or some such at the University of Alabama.

Translation: He'll be a lobbyist to get federal funds for my alma mater.
His sister is president of the university.
Oh yeah, he won't work for HER.
He will work for "the university system".
That includes campuses at Tuscaloosa, Birmingham, Montgomery, and Huntsville.
Yeah, it stinks.

The runoff is between Bradley Byrne and Dean Young.
Byrne is a center right trying to run as a far right.
(Byrne was a Dem until 1997.)
Dean is a tea party wingnut.
Big supporter of Judge(?) Roy Moore.
He scares the crap out of me.

We have open voting, so I can go and vote for Byrne.
I'll vote for the Dem (LeFlore) in the general election just for the hell of it, although he doesn't have a snowball's chance.
He's also not real bright. I've talked to him.
He thought 'Obamacare' and the ACA were two different things.
