(150 posts)If they really wanted to scare everybody, they'd have actors playing Bachmann, Palin, and Cruz, explaining the "Constitution" as their perverted minds see it!

(5,105 posts)One had men walking around in long robes or dresses, going into tiny closets that had small openings. Young men and children walked into identical closets next to them.
The creepy men in dresses made the kids tell them of their "sins," including, and especially, whether they had played with themselves.
Then there was another time at another church where there was a youth group that made everyone talk about their sins then everyone split up by sex and went into cabins where things went on that I won't speak about.
Before anyone accuses me of anything, reread the post.

(15,389 posts)Here's what I posted in another thread about a Hell House in Tulsa, OK.
There's a church there called (and I'm not kidding), "GUTS." Every year they put on a hell house. I decided to check it out one year. They do go all out for it. It's a pretty big one taking up all of one of their facilities - including a large gymnasium for the lines to get in, and when I was there, it was filled to overflowing.
The rooms I remember was one with a drunken driving accident, a girl who had killed herself in a bathtub because she had had an abortion (the walls were covered with names - written in "blood" - that she could have named her kid), a rave room, and then the final room had an illusion known as, "Girl to Gorilla," that they were using to change a man in a suit into Satan and back while some audio track preached at you... I actually gasped and exclaimed, "Girl to Gorilla!" and got some dirty looks from some of the workers in character in the room.
You leave the building, and the exit and several hundred feet beyond are covered by a huge tent where members of the church are waiting to preach to and try to convert you. One young girl was apparently so shaken up (probably by the abortion room), that several counselors surrounded her to "comfort" her. I caught some of them sneaking furtive looks at each other, grinning as if to say, "We got one."
A young hipster came up to talk to me, and I said, "Before you start your spiel, can you look me in the eyes and honestly say that Jesus would approve of this method to convert people?" He wouldn't meet my eyes and said, "Have a good night, sir."
Other than that, what sticks out in my mind was that the hot dogs at the outdoors concession stand were REALLY good.

(1,665 posts)I dont know your opinion of organized religion but that was a righteous act! Feel free to substitute upstanding if you feel that righteous" is too preachy. Either way, good job.
