Power is intoxicating. Everyone loves having the ability to make their decisions into reality to think "this should be something that happens," and then actually be able to make that thing happen.
It is also dangerous.
And it is especially dangerous when applied to four-year-olds.
Four-year-olds lack the experience to wield power responsibly. They have no idea what to do with it or how to control it.

I loved this story because my kid had a green dinosaur hooded towel when she was four. The first time she saw it, she put in on, raced to the bathroom mirror, struck an attack pose, and gleefully said, "I'm scary!"

My parents would have torn my ass up after the very first time I acted up AND they wouldn't have given me any more candy. I'm not advocating whipping your children, just saying.
