Fellow DUer Thom Hartmann talks about how he used his Geiger counter over in Germany shortly after the Chernobyl disaster. He found lots of things to be alarmed about back then. I have heard stories about recent hot rains falling on the North American continent on the Thom Hartmann Show. What evidence do you have that there is no affect from those hot rains on our agriculture?

If you have evidence of this, provide it. "Heard stories" is not evidence of such.

The burden of proof is on you to provide evidence of your claim, not of anyone else to prove it didn't happen.

This was the very story that prompted my question. Perhaps you can tell me what affect has the Fukishima disaster had on this years California marijuana crop.

1) Even the guest speaker in your video said they couldn't associate the radiation levels detected with Fukushima. That was a prudent move on their part, because high radiation levels have also been associated with coal-fired power plants and fracking wastes.

2) They reference RadCast.org, which has virtually nothing online to detail who they are, how they obtain their numbers, or any other critical information one would need to make a critical assessment of their validity. Their website is virtually devoid of anything one could use to determine if they are a credible source, one way or another: http://radcast.org/index.html#

3) No one else except RadCast has been reporting these numbers. I would expect that, at the very least, a few colleges around the nation would be getting odd readings as well, because many college campuses keep radiological records through the science departments and various student/faculty research.

4) It's also a very odd distribution pattern, with a spot in Wisconsin and areas of the East Coast reporting almost the same readings as California and the West Coast? And then ONE spike twice that of any others?

And since I'm in Minnesota, not California, I can't tell you how the marijuana crop is doing, sorry. I can tell you the corn and soybeans did great up here this year, and my beans, tomatoes and peppers did exemplary though, which is strange considering that Radcast.Org says a radioactive cloud snuck past us to get into Wisconsin

Would you recommend anyone that might have an honest and informed take on my question regarding what if any the Fukushima disaster may have had on California's latest marijuana crop?

One day, they gave him a dosimeter and keys to a pickup, and told him to drive around the perimeter of the property and record radiation readings. One side of the property he got some pretty high readings. This alarmed the engineers, until they remembered the nuke reactor was shut down for maintenence. The high readings were downwind of the stacks of the coal plant.

So, any adverse rain effects on marijuana or any other crops is a higher probability of radiation (and acid rain) from coal plants than nuke plants.

Word on the street is Cali is about to swamp our state with outdoor bud. Our struggling indoor cottage industry will be even harder pressed to compete. It is not like we can ask for an import tariff on out of state pot being shipped here.

techniques to bring in two crops in one summer. What used to go for 4000 a pound in the 80's goes for 1100 today.

In San Francisco dispensaries are selling ounces of good outdoor for 130 an ounce retail. This is something that used to go for 3-400.

They are growing so much bud in the emerald triangle that they ran out of water and people started stealing it. The most notorious case when a school water tank was emptied over a weekend and when a towns water supply collapsed because their tanks were drained.

and Weott.

On July 21, the Weott Community Services District folks discovered that one of the town’s water storage tanks was about 10,000 gallons short. A fire hydrant had been opened during the night — water was stolen. The very next day, someone jacked another 10,000 gallons of water from the Weott system. Redwood Times coverage here.)

To replace the stolen water, the Weott CSD pushed more water through its filters than is normally allowed (a move approved by the state Department of Health). This action strained their infrastructure to its breaking point — leaks started popping up all throughout the system. One leak in a major line resulted in a significant silting of the Eel River.

and I will subject it to thorough testing and send you a report. PM me for the shipping address. I suggest UPS ground for the shipment, and please double bag the weed, put it in a sealed Folgers coffee container with foil over the lid opening before replacing the lid. Thank you for your cooperation.

Do not smoke any of this material until my testing is complete. If I send a report to you that clears it, you can freely light up.

... would you like a fine bottle of Gallo's Thunderbird with that order?

Many of us here in Washington would rather smoke Beaster(that swill the growers in British Columbia keep trying to palm off on us because nobody up there will buy it), than smoke Cali outdoor weed. Don't get me wrong, Cali grows some fine outdoor weed but it is OUTDOOR weed!

Washington's growers have good reason to be proud of our fine indoor products because they truly are worldclass. Someday soon, (hopefully) we will be allowed to prove the point by exporting our fine indoor grown products.

I haven't heard anyone claiming that the radiation has migrated from the seawater into the atmosphere. Besides, we're just now coming to the end of our dry season; there hasn't been even an inch of rain since April.
