New York Magazine's Powerful Abortion Cover

In 1972, a year before Roe v. Wade, Ms. Magazine made waves by publishing a petition containing the names of 53 prominent American women who admitted to having had abortions. The act was seen as a brave and galvanizing way to erase the stigma around abortion and push the agenda for its further legalization.

41 years later, New York magazine ran a cover story along remarkably similar lines. Despite the passage of decades, it seems that, on some level, not much has changed.

She underwent a later term - 20 weeks - abortion.

She was married, with a young son and, together with her husband, was happy to welcome a daughter.

But an MRI (I think) or an ultrasound, found the fetus severely deformed, with only part of a brain.

She was tearing and my heart went to her.

And... I could not help thinking that if this woman were Mrs. Santorum, would she have carried the pregnancy to term and then bringing that poor, malformed baby home for the other children to see?
