Strictly my speculation...Rush and Clear Channel will come to some sort of agreement (monetarily)

and rush will be gone in two weeks. CC may love him and all that but this is a business and this many defections of advertisers being nationally exposed is just not good for their business. I worked at a New Jersey radio station many years ago, the loss of one advertiser let alone this amount, was taken very, very seriously. Usually the poor sales person got the brunt of the "Why?" ... CC is not going to tolerate this for too long. I'm saying two weeks, whatcha think?

Rush provides a major outlet for the RNC to promote their governing philosophy. Basically fear and hate. He is usefully in the divide and conqure strategy so crucial to the republican party. He can focus people on matters such as 'unions get something you don't', to promote right to work laws. His complaints about overpaid teachers furthers the cause of for 'for profit education'. To be sure his recent war on women was intended to ralley the religous right.
I suspect that were it to become necessary the David and Charles Koch branch of the US government will provide sufficent advertising revinue for Rush to continue.
Rush also provides an overal 'tone' for the Murdoc empire giving rise to other outlets like Fox news and Glen Beck.
I don't we will see the end of the infmous pig-boy anytime soon.

As much as I wish that it would. Rush's power base is too powerful. It is truly astounding his power. Don Imus hit the road about a spontaneous series of statements made as part of a dialogue with another who started the process. Not saying he should not have been shown the door.

Three days of premediated attacks about Ms. Fluke's sex life based on absolutely nothing, and he is still standing. It is amazing.

I have read that Rush is now scrubbing the transcript. Also Obama's SuperPAC is come out against Bill Maher (but I think they are keeping the money).

The SuperPAC head also mentioned Ted Nugent and how Romney sought for and received an endorsement for the man. Here is a choice quote from Rolling Stone to innoculate from Bill Maher.

Renegade right-winger Ted Nugent recently went on a vicious onstage rant in which he threatened the lives of Democratic presidential candidates Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. Decked out in full-on camouflage hunting gear, Nugent wielded two machine guns while raging, "Obama, he's a piece of shit. I told him to suck on my machine gun. Hey Hillary," he continued. "You might want to ride one of these into the sunset, you worthless bitch." Nugent summed up his eloquent speech by screaming "freedom!"

By the way he referred to Feinstein as a "worthless whore". Someone needs to ask Romney how he likes the endorsement.

Another choice one. Directly in line with Maher.

http://www.westword.com/1994-07-27/music/ted-s-world/About Hillary Clinton: "You probably can't use the term `toxic cunt' in your magazine, but that's what she is. Her very existence insults the spirit of individualism in this country. This bitch is nothing but a two-bit whore for Fidel Castro."
