Cities and States minimum wage increase is of no use

until federal govt also increases federal minimum wage.

Take for example Seattle : They have now $15 minimum wage. Do you really think new businesses would be coming there now? Existing low wage employers like walmart, Mcd etc will increase the minimum wage but just outside the city limit, minimum wage will be about $9. Now of course business owners will not take a dent in their profits and take the pill of $15 minimum wage. They will increase price of products/services. But people can easily buy cheaper products/services just outside city limit.

Now Washington state has a minimum wage of $9.2 per hour. Imagine what would happen if Washington was still at $7.25 per hour and Seattle has $15 per hour wage.

Similar can be said about states. Businesses will not expand in a high minimum wage state and would definitely expand more in a red state. Due to this, right-wing bullshit continues that business expansion and new jobs are created more in red states. They don't tell you that red states have slavery wage rules and that gives unfair advantage to them.

Thus, only solution is to increase federal minimum wage. If democrats control both houses of the congress, this should be the foremost agenda.
