My fiancee had to go to the ER for a bad stomach infection this past Friday, cost, 3 dollars...

and yes, they expected it up front, which is funny when you think about it, but that is the power of Medicaid, thankfully we will meet her spendown for this month, so she was able to stay at the hospital until she was feeling a little better, and scheduling a followup with her PCP this week.

We live in Missouri, and have Republifucks as legislators, so Medicaid expansion isn't happening, but honestly, for all the complaints we have about Medicaid in this state, mostly related to the draconian asset and income requirements, once she does have it, its great, copays are low enough to be affordable for people at any income level, 1-2 dollars per prescriptions, 3 dollar copay for ER visits, 0 dollar copays for doctor visits, etc. I truly wish that more people can take advantage of it, and that we can improve it.
