But TCM broadcast the 1951 Alastair Sim version on the 16th of December and ABC Family broadcast the Disney Christmas Carol several times during the season.

one would have to subscribe to pay-cable in order to watch what had once been a seasonal staple of regular broadcast TV.

I said to heck with it and paid $5 for the Mr. MaGoo DVD version.
