(20,226 posts)I sided 98% with the Green Party 93% with the Democrats - 86% with the Socialist - 54% with the Libertarians and 1% with the Republicans - I still vote Democratic 100% of the time if there is the slightest risk of throwing the election to a bunch of crackpots who sound like the nuts on Fox News. I would also add that according their polling I am in 50% agreement with the majority of Americans on most issues. So that is not that far out in left field as it sounds

Yet when you break down the categories, there is only one Green and zero Libertarian. Most are Democrat or Socialist. How very strange.

(91 posts)That was a lot of fun. I figured I'd score high for Democrat and Green. I actually scored a lot higher as a socialist than I thought I would and a lot lower as a Libertarian than I would have thought.

(91 posts)This time I just answered yes or no to the questions and left the ranking meter in the center.
Green Party:
on foreign policy, economic, social, environmental, healthcare, and science issues
Democrats:
on economic, foreign policy, domestic policy, environmental, social, healthcare, and science issues
Socialist:
on economic, foreign policy, social, environmental, and healthcare issues
Libertarians:
on domestic policy issues
Republicans:
no major issues
This time it greatly raised my Libertarian numbers.

(20,226 posts)and I got:
98% Republican
52% Libertarian (funny that is less than the 54% I got answering them honestly and I sided 98% with the Green Party 93% with the Democrats - 86% with the Socialist and 1% with the Republicans)
9% Democrat
5% Green
1% Socialist
In terms of siding with candidates it showed
97% with Mitt Romney Republican on foreign policy, environmental, immigration, social, economic, domestic policy, and healthcare
86% Virgil Goode of the Constitution Party
82% with Ron Paul
73% with Gary Johnson of the Libertarian Party
and 56% with President Barack Obama
So when I intentionally tried to answer these questions like a Fox New - Tea Party - Right Wing Kook - according to this survey - I still end up in 56% agreement with Barack Obama

(20,226 posts)Republican leaning voters - followed this or at least the principle based on this and voted for the party and the candidates who were actually closest to them on the issues? I guess there would be a lot more Democrats voting Green. But there would be a significant number of the less ideologically driven Republican leaning voters who would discover that they really agree more with the Democrats and a fair number who would vote Libertarian.
