Dog and Goose Both Hated Everyone Until They Found Each Other

Sometimes there really is a happy ending!

Have you heard the expression “opposites attract but likes stick?” It seems this applies to non-humans as well. A sweet story about a German shepherd dog headed for death row and a wayward goose with attitude issues comes from Puriton Horse and Animal Rescue in Somerset, England. The rescue’s goal is “to stop suffering in the animal world, and to provide a home for any cat, dog, horse or rabbit.”

All of my hens are gone, and he was all alone and lonely. My oldest hen died this summer; she hatched and raised him a few years back. His dad, and his grand-dad, lived their lives out peacefully here. Both were completely gentle and trustworthy around humans, as the grandson was.

When I had to catch him to put him in a crate and take him to his new home, I went out and got him off the roost while it was still dark. He was terrified. He screeched piteously, and beat at me with his wings, but didn't touch me with his beak or large spurs. He'd never been handled before.

He's now living happily with some hens at a family members, no longer alone. It was worth it, but the getting there was hard.

I've had a few aggressive roosters, but they didn't stay long. Signs of aggression meant they became stew.

The middle section shows a turkey stalking and attacking a reporter. It chases her into her car & then walks around it looking in the windows.
I laugh every time I think about it.

to him.

The guy jumps back and yells what sounds like "What the f.."?!, stopping at the crucial moment.

it could and consistently take toys or resting places from the other cat (the easy-going Democrat). The Republican had to have "everything".
