Assange is a kind of creepy guy with an awesome website

This "either/or" stuff is really tiresome.

Assange is a guy who creeps women, has an inflated sense of self-importance, and has one of the most important websites in the world (for that matter, he's hardly the only paranoid egotistical creep with a world-changing website).

Greenwald is a self-promoting hack who has also managed to break what is probably the most important story in several decades (while screwing up several aspects of it). He's hardly the first self-promoting hack to see a story for what it is and run with it.

Snowden is a man who has managed to unveil the shenanigans of the component of the security state that he contracted for (NSA) while completely failing to reveal anything whatsoever about the component of the security state that he actually was an agent for (CIA). Furthermore, his actions both helped and harmed US security -- and which one predominates depends on what we do now with the information.

Secrets are dangerous things, and the people who have them and reveal them are rarely simple characters. It is possible to believe both good and bad things about them, and in fact it's probably a good idea.

Your only refuge is that it's the middle of the night in the US.
Come morning, watch out.

Snowden, Greenwald, and Assange. You are clearly a heretic. Add on that imagining that people can do both good and bad things rather than exist as one-dimensional heroes or villains, you make far too much sense.

None of the guys you mentioned are perfect, just as on the other side, Obama, Hillary, and Kerry have similar flaws. That's what makes them human. It shows an incredible lack of maturity when one is unable to accept legitimate criticisms about a political actor they support.

DU has turned into more of a fan site than political discussion board.

I by no means meant that as an all-inclusive list of human frailties, nor do I put myself up as omiscient.
