As this website proves, many still believe there are profound and meaningful differences between the parties in our Pay to Play system. The pattern is obviously supported by both parties.

Party has nothing to do with it, it's all about about class.

Y'know. Globalization and all that good stuff. Why would wages go up when companies continue to benefit from outsourcing to countries where workers are paid less because of different currencies, lax regulations, inexpensive healthcare, the absence of worker unions or rights, or where governments subsidize worker salaries between 30-45 percent? All of these things are used to drive down wages, reduce benefits, and create less secure work situations where those lucky enough to be employed are afraid to complain and those left out of work are just out of luck.

Is anyone offering legislation to change these things?

Why, yes--both parties are working to bring jobs back to the US by lowering our working benefits & conditions to be competitive with the 3rd World.

They will continue to ignore the disparity.

Reagan ignored it for corporate profit and reduced taxes on the 1%.
Bush ignored it for corporate profit driven primarily with war and tax cuts
Clinton ignored it for corporate profit and passed NAFTA reducing or eliminating taxes.
Bush ignored it for corporate profit and tax cuts for the 1%
Obama will continue to ignore it for corporate profits and the TPP that will reduce or eliminate taxes.

It gets harder and harder to see the differences between the parties when both sides work for the same goals, eliminating taxes for corporations and maximizing their profit.

Many progressive countries fight it very effectively. We can learn from them.

...working class people who voted for Republicans
because they were voting against their own financial interests.

Now, the Free Trading, Anti-LABOR, 3rd Way Democratic Party Leadership is asking me to do the same.

My mother used to caution me against laughing at people because one day I would find myself on the same spot.
Mom was right.

right here on the DU, it's all the fault of progressives. We sat out the election of 2010 so it's all our fault. I'm assuming, from our chart, that we've been sitting out elections since about 1975 or so. No proof of this, of course, but there has to be a scapegoat involved so it might as well be the progressives. It's all our fault, damnit11111!!!!111!1

Sure they throw us a few more crumbs than the repubs, but too many of their greedy little snouts are sucking at the trough, right along side the elephants. If you look closely, it's hard to tell some of them are even donkeys. When they said the dems had a big tent, I thought it meant we had room for the poor & the oppressed, not a bunch of privileged elephants.

They're quick and slick

They're insincere

Beware

Beware

Be a very wary bear

...

Because they come in every shape and size, size, size, size

If honey is what you covet

you'll find that they love it

Because they'll guzzle up the thing you prize
