One of my favorite movies. I think the movie is a tribute to them.
One of my favorite lines is by Gene Hackman. "Is that gun just for show deputy or do you get to shoot people once in a while?"
Hackman's character knew the deputy took part in the killing but did not have evidence that would convict him in a state court.
That's why the perps were tried for violations of civil rights a federal charge.
