In other news, after over six months of unemployment, I have another job

Granted, it's yet another temp assignment in a mail room at an insurance company - I'm helping out with the transition of some long-term disability contracts - but considering that I've had to go on food stamps for the first time in my life, it feels good to finally be paid money for doing stuff. And the money's not too bad.

Looks like it might be a good holiday season for me after all. My thoughts, however, are still with those who have not yet been able to find work. Best wishes to all of you.

And yes, it's definitely a paycheck. It'll even be a little larger than my last paycheck, so that should help a little bit.

Maybe I can even start exploring ghost towns again. I've really missed those road trips this past summer.

I'd love to break out and explore in other states. Picher, OK is on my list - provided there's anything left to see. I understand the state government dissolved the town last month.

As the number of jobs dwindle in an ever-more modernized society, it's the real only solution.

My thoughts too are with others still looking for work or who are struggling with this crappy economy.
