Feds Now Investigating Christie Appointees' Lane Closures

Feds Now Investigating GWB Lane Closures by Christie Appointees

The federal government is now investigating the closures of four lanes of the nation's busiest bridge by two former appointees of Governor Chris Christie, a prominent national Republican who is eying a 2016 presidential bid.

Senator John D. (Jay) Rockefeller IV, a West Virginia Democrat who chairs the U.S. Senate Science, Commerce, and Transportation Committee is asking the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to explain the unannounced closure in September 2013 of the George Washington Bridge, which connects New Jersey and New York City. In a press release, Rockefeller said he was "alarmed by the agency's sudden action and its subsequent consequences on interstate commerce and safety."

In addition, and in a second, related story, it appears that Christie's appointee Wildstein (now resigned) has been purchasing domain names of other NJ politicians, such as a .co for Barbara Buono, who ran against Christie:

Many of domain names David Wildstein purchased revolve around New Jersey Democrats. Barbara Buono was New Jersey Governor Christie's democratic opponent in last month's gubernatorial race, and Milly Silva was her running mate. Fulop2017.com presumably refers to the current mayor of Jersey City, and Bob Sommer is one of Fulop's advisors. Wildstein also purchased the name of the New Jersey Record reporter who first had the story - Shawn Boburg. Governor Christie's team is denying any knowledge of the domain name, and Wildstein hasn't commented.

The full list of domain names he purchased are at the link:

It's bad enough to purchase the domain names of Democrats, but to purchase the name of a reporter?! This guy has some 'splainin to do. It sounds to me like outright intimidation.

the Wall Street gang after the collapse of our economy in 2008. Both were involved in that destruction. ...

The Bush documents are the lies told to Americans that WMD's existed. Then he killed our families, and destroyed another country at the same time. Not to mention all the GITMO prisoners being held without a charge.

The " paper shreader" best tool ever invented for our gov. officials.

Cristy has plenty of dirt, we are just at the beginning of finding out about all his skeletons!

The civil liability here for New Jersey is huge if this closing turns out to be political retribution. The traffic nightmare which resulted caused all kinds of losses for commuters in terms of missed appointments, accidents, etc.
