"Neither of them represent my values".
"I'll sit at home before I'll vote for Romney, and Santorum has a loose screw".
Now that is on the ground in Mississippi.

(39,961 posts)We do the right thing in my family. They voted for Clinton a time or two, though they won't admit it (except quietly). They didn't vote for Obama before? But if they have a choice of Romney vs. Obama, I'm pretty sure they will do the right thing. They won't scream about it, but they'd vote for Seamus before they would vote for Romney.

I nearly fell out when my father said this. He's better than Romney and Santorum.

(11,607 posts)I cannot imagine a huge GOP turnout for any of the above. Hopefully with the lack of enthusiasm on the right the SOB'S lose the House and even more votes in the house.

(39,961 posts)And the only reason he didn't lose handily was because Gingrich, who came in second, was on the ticket. Were it not for Gingrich, Romney would have been destroyed in the Deep South. TX and LA are the next to lose for Romney.

(20,450 posts)enthused and seem only to like Romney because they think he can best Obama. Yes, they may prefer Gingrich and Santorum, but the low turnout is telling.

(39,961 posts)At least that's what it says down here. They won't even bother to go to the polls if he is the Republican choice.
That's great news for Democrats on local and state tickets. We need to keep the dejection going.

(20,450 posts)friends of mine believe that Obama has a chance to win the state. He only lost by 5%. Surprisingly there was a good number of Democrats that didn't vote in 2008. If we get more Democrats out, there may be a chance. The southerners in my home state just don't seem to like Romney.

(3,003 posts)Sorry, but I live in Georgia, and can tell you this: Obama cracking 45% of the vote here would be a major accomplishment. People here will never choose a Democrat in a presidential election.

(11,304 posts)that is going to be negative against Obama. There are so many millionaires and Rove's own pacs. I hope people will see through this and not let negative ads point them in the wrong direction.

(39,961 posts)Same evangelical Christians and Baptists. What we want is for this to drag out to the point that it's a brokered convention. Then, the eventual nominee has only 2 months to galvanize a fight against President Obama. Also, it demoralizes Republicans to the point that they don't even want to vote - which includes state and local positions.
As long as they are slinging mud at each other, President Obama can continue to be the President, make good decisions and produce results.

Good for them.

(39,961 posts)It just pleases me greatly to see Romney fail repeatedly. I predict a brokered convention. Republicans are going to have to spend so much time hitting each other, President Obama will be without a scratch.

(56,177 posts)will have spent so much money on Romney they'll wonder if he's still worth it...I can see donations dropping way off.
I cheer for every Santorum win. He couldn't win in the general election if Jesus came down and endorsed him, and Republican donors know this. Romney is tepid as hell, and they are discovering just how deeply that runs.
I hope they blow the war chest getting Romney as the nominee, because he certainly won't embarrass them as badly as Santorum being the nominee will. Either way? They are going to have to spend it all just to have Romney be the nominee.

(20,450 posts)about Puerto Ricans not knowing English. When I was there, EVERYONE spoke English!!! And statehood is a sore subject, so for him to go on and on about that will hurt him!
I wish he would just shut the fuck up and stop saying shit that will cost him primary/caucus states!!

(3,003 posts)Don't discourage Republican voters from choosing Santorum as their nominee! John F. Kennedy gave strict instructions to his staff in 1963 not to say ANYTHING that would discourage Barry Goldwater from seeking the Republican nomination. His wisdom on this was proven a year after his death when his former vice-president blew GOP Nominee Goldwater OFF THE MAP!!
