7:00 p.m. - March 13th - in IOWA!
I wonder what ramifications this mild "winter" will have going forward. I don't think the ground ever froze here; what sorts of critters that usually die off during the winter are merely dormant this year?
I worry about more cases of Lyme disease due to more ticks; I worry about the lack of snow and its effect on the ground water for farmers; I worry that the forecast this week is in the mid-upper-seventies, and it's supposed to get muggy by Friday already - what does this mean for the upcoming summer?
The mild weather is certainly pleasant, but it's concerning as well.

(6,109 posts)Also have garden plants that are usually annuals with buds. They made it through the winter. This tells me our winter was at least one zone warmer.
