Iron Workers Formally Endorses Barack Obama For President
The Iron Workers are proud to join with our Brother and Sister Unions from across the nation in the unanimous endorsement by the AFL-CIO of the candidacy of President Barack Obama. Please read the attached statement from AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka.
While much of President Obama's agenda to create an economy for the future has been blocked by the most filibusters ever recorded from a Senate minority, his commitment to labor has never wavered.
As the intensity of labor bashing reaches new heights, their words have become actions to strip you of your rights, your pursuit of a better life and your family's future. His potential adversaries proudly proclaim their opposition to collective bargaining, project labor agreements, prevailing wages and basic workers' rights necessary to have a Union while garnering money and support from corporations and enemies of labor.
The choice is clear for your future, the future of organized labor and the future of America's middle class. We look forward to the battle and your help in leading the way.
