Very Good Article. She basically wants to keep her kids safe and probably allow them time to mature mentally more than the physical maturity. Her children are 14 and 17 at the moment but who knows how much they have suffered. I have read in articles that Jaycee herself taught them all she knew learning wise but who knows what tortures those little ones went through.

She created a Fund to help families going through abductions and tragedies.

all in all I think she is a remarkable Young Woman.

I think she is wise to stay hidden, especially for her children. It's hard to know you were born of rape, probably even harder if you grew up knowing the rapist.

Won't hurt her either. I'm not sure we have the knowledge to "treat" people who have suffered what they did. They have a very unique road to walk, and it's hard to describe most people who would try to participate as much other than "gawkers". I mean really, how many people have ANY particular expertise in what they have to do? A few therapists, a trusted friend or two, and family. Everyone else GO AWAY. Let them make friends who know nothing of it. Let them reveal in their own way and time. In 30 years, if they think they are up to it, they can write a book about the journey.

her of child abuse because she is a single mother not raising her children in marriage with their biological dad.

Rethugs are so clueless. It never dawns on them that some biological fathers became so because they kidnapped young children and forced them into motherhood. And they actually think that fathers exist to protect their children from child abuse.
