America the Beautiful. We should be, yet we lost our way. (pic heavy)

U.S. Hunger

We live in the world's wealthiest nation. Yet 14.5 percent of U.S. households—nearly 49 million Americans, including 15.9 million children—struggle to put food on the table.

In the United States, hunger is not caused by a scarcity of food, but rather the continued prevalence of poverty. Both issues must be addressed in our continued efforts to help those Jesus called "the least of these" (Matthew 25:45).

The most direct way to reduce hunger in the U.S. is through national nutrition programs. But while food assistance to hungry people is vital, it is not enough.

We as a nation must come together to confront hunger and poverty in the United States.

My anger at those who allow this to happen threatens to choke me with rage.

But it won't help.

Getting any good kind of change is like turning the Titanic: slow, difficult, almost impossible.

Where is our national will?

I want to scream.

We are such a rich nation. We can do so much better than this.

I have always felt the pain of Dorathy Lange's pictures, sadly the problem is still with us. It needs to end.

it doesn't need to be this way. So many kind, caring, compassionate people are working on solutions to help everybody, including our President. But, we need more.. America needs a deprogramming of its brainwashed citizenry.

They continue to vote against their best interest. So sad yet true.

They are the sheep that keeps Faux News in business. Brainwashed is right!
