McConnell: Marijuana use causes death

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) recently replied back to one of his constituents to declare that marijuana usage leads to death, according to the Huffington Post.

McConnell sent a response letter to the constituent, who posted it on the pot supporting website grasscity.com Tuesday morning. The Kentucky senator candidly expressed his disagreement and concern over legalizing marijuana in the February 14th letter, citing a medical marijuana bill introduced by Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA) in 2011.

“Because of the harm that substances like marijuana and other narcotics pose to our society, I have concerns about this legislation,” McConnell wrote. “The detrimental effects of drugs have been well documented: short-term memory loss, loss of core motor functions, heightened risk of lung disease, and even death.”

Despite McConnell’s apparent fears, studies have shown throughout the years that marijuana usage does not cause death. Marijuana also is dramatically less harmful than alcohol or smoking cigarettes.

No, I don't partake. But I'm getting sick of Mitch's pitching for the worst corporations in the world. Somebody retire his lying mouth, please.

She lived all those years mostly just fine, and then just months after starting smoking medical pot she was dead.

I just can't imagine a right minded person needs more proof than that!

Just ask the mothers and fathers of the thousands of dead military professionals that never came home from Iraq.

Voting republican is a million times more deadly then smoking a joint and there is proof.

miniscule as compared to the number of deaths and other detrimental effects directly caused by a continuous litany of shamefully wrong-headed GOP (RW) policies and actions. McConnell is a shameless hypocrite of the highest order imo.

Assuming that you have walked to pick up three bags of "Smart food" popcorn at your local WaWa's and on the way back, you accidently stop in the middle of the highway to take a few bites causing you to get run over by a semi tractor trailer.

So yes, technically it could cause death.
