Conservative Fans Unhappy With A E Over 'Duck Dynasty' Controversy

I do not watch the show and only became aware of it since this controversy started. I think these fans are dangerously nuts. Am surprised at the number of sigs that were gathered.

In a statement Chris Stone, founder of Faith Driven Consumer, which started the IStandWithPhil.com petition, questioned whether religious conservative fans were being "heard" by the network.

"Do they also now embrace the biblically based values and worldview held by the Robertson family and millions of Faith Driven Consumers?" wrote Stone.

The Istandwithphil.com petition amassed more than 260,000 signatures by the time Robertson was reinstated by A&E.

"Faith Driven Consumers will remain vigilant as we measure whether A&E's actions reflect true tolerance, diversity, and mutual respect -- including their equal embrace of our biblically based values and deeply held beliefs," wrote Stone. n.ws/1hPgGCi (via @ABC)

and A&E will rake in the advertising dollars. Just like I am starting to think they planned...

The *real* question is: What conservative-oriented advertisers (like those Gold-hucksters who supported Beck) will step up and pay A&E?

to "sell" the show to even more conservatives and also move more of their crap merchandising at stores during the holidays.

Greed trumps all. The religious wrapping is just to wrap in those more easily duped.

They don't care about the human cost.

Jesus Christ had far more to say about cleansing the money changers from the temple than about who slept with who.

They don't run they network according to biblical values. Their values are viewers and profits.

on how one thinks that "breed" got to be the way they are.

Were they born that way? If so, then would it be reasonable to say that they can't help it any more than someone can help having some sort of congenital disability. Would it be OK to laugh at a mentally disabled person? I would say probably not.

If they weren't born that way, it must mean somewhere along the line someone else MADE them that way. In which case, wouldn't it be reasonable to look upon them in pity and remember the saying, "There but for the grace of God go I".

Because, you know, each one of us could have been this close [] to having the same influences in our lives. An accident of birth could have given any one of us a whole different life, and we would be on the other side of this.

Do intelligent, compassionate, "liberal" people laugh at others for things they may not be able to help?

Then around 13 I said, "Really?"

Of course I was "saved" at the age of 12 so maybe that did it for me

I have never watched this show and do not plan to do so in the future. I saw that A&E had Goodfellas on yesterday and decided not to watch this show.

over the last 4 years!

The US is an embarrassment to the world! These type shows are dangerous. I laugh at this crap most of the time--but I do think we have a serious problem. A major portion of the population is DEvolving!!

Why Are Republicans Rejecting Basic Biology Even More?

I wish I could say this news is surprising, but it’s really not (via):

Over the last four years, the percentage of Democrats who said they believe in evolution has risen by three points, from 64 percent to 67 percent. But the percentage of Republicans who believe in the theory has dropped 11 points, from 54 percent to 43 percent.

So while there was a 10-point gap in 2009, there is now a 24-point gap........
