Marriage License in Louisiana

***snip***

Applicants under 18 years of age must also bring:

Both parents to sign consent forms. Both parents must bring their driver's license.

If one parent has full custody, that parent must come in to sign consent forms with his/her driver's license and custody papers showing full custody. Joint custody requires both parent's consent.

Applicants under 16 years of age also require a judge's consent.

I would never consent to my daughter getting married at age 16 or 15 and probably not even at age 17.

For a woman, marrying at 15 means being stuck in the backwoods of Louisiana or some other Godforsaken shithole with the likes of you, raising a houseful of kids and living in poverty. Let's just say some things really are worse than death.

Love,
Brigid
