(17,055 posts)I doubt any reputable news or blog sites will bother trying to prove this woman's open letter.
But you can bet every other right wing outlet will spread it far and wide. I'm tiredtoo, tired of this kind of crap being posted on DU.

(2,949 posts)If i cannot post here seeking help where do you suggest i post? Sorry that you are tired of this kind of crap being posted on DU.

(17,055 posts)linked blog wrote about before giving them any traffic. And once you see that they are right wing and couldn't find anything to debunk their crap with/by your own search, consider it most likely just more RW crap. You can't debunk those kind of things because as I said no reputable place will even give that crap the time of day.

(2,949 posts)I had no idea some here are so easily upset by a link to a rightwing bs. In the past i have received quick responses and links to assist me in my efforts.
Again, I apologize for what some here consider an invasion of their time/bulletin board?

(18 posts)I went to the site and put in what I could tell from the family. Live in Alabama, Two adults, two children. I entered approx age (best guess from picture). She states that they get a tax credit. I kept increasing their income until I as close to what she said she had. I finally had them making $80,000 per year which gave them a small $97 tax credit for the Blue Saver Silver plan. Anything above $80,000 and they didn't get the tax credit. Here is the details about the health plan I got from ACA. This didn't include the dental.
Sounds like she either is being taken to the cleaners by the insurance company or the letter is full of lies.
Monthly premium $592/mo
4 enrollees
Premium before tax credit: $689/mo
Deductible
$4,800/yr Family total
$2,400/yr Per individual
Out-of-pocket Maximum
$12,700/yr Family
$6,350/yr Per individual
Copayments/Coinsurance:
Primary Doctor: $40
Specialist Doctor: $55
Generic Prescription: $20
ER Visit: $300

(9,463 posts)What is your motive here? Are you unable to discern a fucking RWNJ website on your own?
Look at the homepage!!! So, a RWNJ website is where you get this from and you have to ask if it's true?
For example, this is one of the headlines on their homepage right now: Just Sayin: 7 Out Of 10 Convicted Felons Register As Democrats ...
Here's another: Obamacare, Day One: 2.6 Million More Cancellations Than Sign-Ups
If you have to ask if this story is legit, you're judgement is questionable.
If you post another bullshit post like this one and waste my time again having to do your discerning and research for you, I will block your ass!!!

(9,463 posts)despite knowing it was bullshit???
For God's sake! She fucks up her story almost immediately (by the second paragraph)!
She states she received her new premium of $753.26 (see bolded text below) 2 1/2 freaking months before she applied for the ACA plan she claims is costing here $753.26!
Now, you tell me, how did she get a bill for $753.26 for ACA coverage BEFORE she even applied for it??? That is her complaint, is it not, that ACA caused her premium to go up???
My familys journey with securing our new insurance under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) started on October 1, 2013. I have decided to write this letter to let the American people know what it has been like for us. We are a family of four, with two little boys ages seven years old and three years old. My husband and I have had full time jobs for 6 years and 13 years respectively. We have been with the same two companies for those years. We are a middle class family; we own our three bedroom two bath house, we own two cars, and previously provided our own insurance for the four of us. We have coverage through Individual Blue from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama until 12/31/13. Our premiums have been $380.00 a month, which also included dental coverage for all four of us.
On October, 1, 2013 we received our letters like other Alabamians about our new premiums and plans for 2014 from Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) of Alabama. When I opened our letter to say I had sticker shock was an understatement. Our premiums for the Blue Saver Silver would now be $753.26. This included the ACA tax but did not include the additional $75.00 we would need to pay in order to keep dental for me and my husband. So we would need to pay total $828.26 to keep health and dental insurance for the four of us. This payment is roughly $64.00 less than what we pay for our mortgage each month. I was outraged that anyone thought we could afford this. Sure we have some savings, but with that price tag we would whittle it down to almost nothing very quickly. I consider savings as a rainy day fund, a start to saving for the kids college, our retirement, etc. I never dreamed in a million years we would need to use it to pay our insurance premiums each month how in the world could this help the economy too?

(2,949 posts)I did not want anyone to go into reading the link. The link was just provided as a source of the bs. As i said before, many times folks here have posted a quick link to something i could use in debunking this type of posts. If you look back I did make a second post stating the RWNJ website as being ranked #19. suggesting perhaps that is all i needed to debunk the story. Usually i go to Snopes.com and get all the ammo i need to squash this type of bs. however when i find nothing at snopes i have came here knowing full well that someone here will have a good response.

(9,463 posts)you aren't careful, you can be perceived as one of those trolls when posting crap like that stupid letter.
I apologize for my acerbic reaction. I simply have had my fill of the bullshit from right-wing dumbasses. And they are ALL, to the idiot, dumbasses.
That this woman was claiming to get an ACA bill 2 months before she even applied was a dead giveaway.
